In 1928 a few Greek families originally from Chios and Mani, with the support of the Pansamian Society went ahead and leased a second story flat at 120 Bank Street that was going to serve as a Church, as well as a Greek School.  The late Reverend Nicholas Papas was the first Priest who joined St. Demetrios Church that same year.  Their spirit, their determination and their faith were bitterly tested in the fall of 1928 when the first signs of the Great Depression caused great financial hardship to the newly established Church of St. Demetrios. 

Holy Trinity is an Eastern Orthodox Church under the jurisdiction of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople. The parish belongs to the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, led by His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios, with headquarters in New York City. The parish is located with the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of New Jersey, headed by His Eminence Metropolitan Evangelos. The parish priest is the Rev. Fr. Peter Delvizis.

Our Greek Orthodox Community of New Brunswick - St. George was founded in 1916, in order to build and maintain our Greek Orthodox Church and our Greek School so that it would educate the children of our Community to speak the language of the Hellenes.
Our Community has founded many organizations that contribute to advancing Hellenic culture, traditions and of course, the Greek Orthodox Christian faith. 

Our parish is dedicated to imitating the love and faithfulness of Jesus Christ by sharing the gospel with our words and living it with our lives. We seek to strengthen and encourage one another in the faith so that we may be equipped to welcome many more into our family as fellow disciples of Jesus Christ.

The humble community of St. Athanasios Greek Orthodox Church was established Oct. 31, 1921, in a small room over a restaurant on Market Street in Paterson, New Jersey, by a handful of immigrants who came together to foster and preserve the religious and cultural heritage of their native Greece.

As the parish grew, it became necessary to build a larger church and related facilities to meet the faithful’s growing needs. Land was purchased in Paterson in 1923, and the cornerstone for the new structure was laid in 1928. In the decades that followed, dedicated clergy and parishioners sacrificed much for the expansion of their church, persisting in their mission with courage, faith and conviction.
